Safety Compliance Trainer:

Job Description

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following (other duties may be assigned).
• Administers road test to new RBS drivers and yardmen, assessing proficiency in operating vehicles in accordance with FMCSR guidelines and driver qualifications.
• Identifies deficiencies and training requirements for new employees operating company delivery vehicles, forklifts, and other job related machinery.
• Trains and coaches yardmen and drivers on company delivery vehicles and forklifts in accordance with FMCSR guidelines, industry best practices, and company directives.
• Schedules and coordinates training for new employees with Branch Managers.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of new driver and yardmen training and testing.
• Trains yardmen and drivers on role-specific tasks including but not limited to: order/load building, load securement, moffet operation, best on-site delivery practices, material protection, etc.
• Reviews driver performance regularly, recommends and administers additional, event-specific coaching/training.
• Documents and records events in accordance with RBS Driver Safety and Recognition Program.
• Manages employee performance and KPI scores in accordance with RBS Driver Safety and Recognition Program.
• Works with Upper Management in recommending changes/updates to RBS Driver Safety and Recognition Program based on changes to FMCSR, company and industry standards, and employee performance.
• Assesses risk and establishes driver liability/responsibility for on-the-road triggered events, recommending training/coaching.
• Follows up on triggered/coachable events to ensure safety requirements are met and risk-associated behavior has been corrected.
• Actively works with Logistics department to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

 

Qualifications

Safety Compliance Trainer:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 10+ years CDL Driving experience and/or training.
  • 10+ years of building/lumber industry experience.
  • Must hold valid CDL-A License.

For compliance purposes for NYS transparency, the expected salary range is $25.00 - $35.00. Compensation will be based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
